2014 Poetry Chapbook Competition


Winner will receive $200 and 30 copies of his/her chapbook
Winner will have input on cover design
Winner will be invited to read from his/her chapbook as the feature at a DPC First Friday reading



Manuscript should contain 16 to 20 pages of poetry: any form, any theme
Each poem should appear on a separate page
Manuscript should include Table of Contents
Manuscript should include Acknowledgements page if applicable
Manuscript should contain no names or identifying material
Manuscript should have two covers: one with title only, one including name and
contact information (Please include email; winner will be contacted by
Each manuscript should be accompanied by a $15 reading fee
Manuscript need be accompanied by SASE only if a list of finalists is desired—

Celebrity judge, Alan Berecka.

Alan Berecka is a New Yorker transplanted to Texas. He resides in Sinton and is a reference librarian at Del Mar College in Corpus Christi. Alan is the author of three collections of poetry: The Comic Flaw (neoNuma Arts), Remembering the Body (Mongrel Empire Press, 2011-- winner of the Eric Hoffer Award) and With Our Baggage (Lamar University Press, 2013).
